It can also assess the sun-blocking capabilities of window curtains. The device has a transmittance range of 0 to 100% and can measure thicknesses from 0 to 1/4 inch (0 to 6.5mm) with an accuracy of +/-2%. It features a power-on self-calibration. Readings are shown on a 3-digit, 999-count LCD. The automatic data hold function locks the reading on the display for 30 seconds before the auto-shutdown feature activates to save battery life. A continuous use function can override the auto-shutdown for extended operation.
