Overview - Ultimate All-In-One Test System

The ADP5250 is engineered to blend a comprehensive range of instruments into a versatile and programmable device. It boasts a mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) with two analog channels offering 100 MHz bandwidth and 1 GS/s, 34 digital channels, a tri-output power supply that can deliver up to 25 V, an external trigger, a Waveform Generator, and an integrated programmable digital multimeter (DMM). This marks Digilent's start into producing instruments with full DMM capabilities, including authentic current and resistance measurement and a 300 V input range.

The Analog Discovery Pro is equipped with a multitude of sophisticated triggering options. The instruments within WaveForms can be cross-triggered, such as initiating an oscilloscope capture based on a received and decoded digital protocol. Moreover, external signals can instigate events via the dedicated external trigger input/output. These features are configurable within the instruments themselves through Digilent's free WaveForms software, or for more control or automation, one of the available scripting interfaces can be used.

For those acquainted with National Instruments (NI), the hardware of the ADP5250 will appear and operate similarly to the VirtualBench VB-8012. The ADP5250 embodies NI's quality hardware and is paired with our reliable WaveForms software suite, providing the ultimate testing experience.

What is WaveForms?

WaveForms, a complimentary software application for the ADP5250 Analog Discovery Pro, facilitates the utilization of available analog and digital instruments. Over a decade of customer feedback has honed the software, resulting in a user interface that is compatible with both computers and laptops and mirrors the feel of conventional benchtop software. WaveForms communicates with the device via a USB connection to your computer, empowering users to capture, record, analyze, and generate mixed signal and mixed domain waveforms. The software can be swiftly downloaded and installed in less than a minute and can be trialed without hardware using its demo mode feature. Beyond the use of instruments, WaveForms also includes a script editor tool for custom scripting of the instrument in JavaScript. The software is engineered to operate on either a laptop or a desktop computer.

For even more customization potential, the WaveForms Software Development Kit (SDK) can be used to create custom applications and scripts in Python, C, and additional languages.

NOTE: The ADP5250 is Windows only.
