- Identifies matching phase on long deenergized and discharged conductors
- 50VDC test voltage enables identification of up to 5,000 foot-long conductors
- Compact, lightweight and easy-to-use solution
- Versatile for overhead and underground applications
The PF-50 Cable Identifier identifies the correct phases of de-energized and discharged overhead and underground cables. It consists of a transmitter and receiver that are designed to be hand held with or without gloves or with optional accessory hotsticks. Red LED’s on both units indicate that the PF-50 units are connected to the same cable. Maximum cable length is 5,000 feet. Because of its higher test voltage, the PF-50 can test a mile of cable.
Operation
The front panel on the transmitter and receiver units has a green LED for the battery indicator as well as 3 red LED’s to indicate that the units are attached to the same cable. Once the cable has been isolated, tested and grounded, connect the ground clips on each unit to a known system ground. After the transmitter and receiver have been turned on, touch the units to each end of the cable to be identified. The red LED’s will illuminate to indicate that the PF-50 units are connected to the same cable.
